Terms
By using this website or sending a request through it, you agree to the terms below. They are written to be read quickly, including by someone standing in a wet basement.
What Water Damage Syracuse does
This is a referral service for water damage in Syracuse and the surrounding Onondaga County area: water extraction and cleanup, structural drying, and sewage and contaminated water cleanup. Homeowners, renters and landlords send us a request, and we pass each one to a licensed, insured water damage contractor who covers that town. Making that connection is the whole of our service.
This service is not a restoration contractor. It has no contractors of its own, sends nobody to a property and performs no work. The contractor you are connected with carries out the work, holds whatever license and insurance it needs, names their own price and enters into their own agreement with you. When this site says licensed or insured, it is describing that contractor, never this service.
No promise about timing
Since we dispatch no one, we cannot and do not promise how soon a contractor gets in touch or reaches the property. Where this site says phones are answered 24/7, it means the phone line, and nothing more. A web form and a referral line are no substitute for emergency services. If you smell gas, get out of the building and phone National Grid or 911 once you are outside. If someone is hurt, or live electrical equipment is wet and you cannot stay away from it, phone 911.
No promise about drying or mold
Nobody can say in advance how long a wet house will take to dry, and this site does not. The EPA says drying usually takes several days to weeks, and that wet materials dried within 24 to 48 hours will in most cases not grow mold. That is guidance, not a promise, and no page here promises an outcome. This service does not refer for mold assessment or mold remediation; visible growth is a separate job.
Insurance is between you and your insurer
We sell no insurance, handle no claims, do not negotiate with insurers for you, and do not tell anyone whether a loss is covered. That turns on your policy's wording and your insurer's decision. In New York, anyone who negotiates the settlement of a claim on your behalf for a fee must be a public adjuster licensed by the Department of Financial Services. When a page summarizes the Department's advice on what to do after a loss, the standard ISO homeowners form or FEMA's flood insurance rules, it is passing on a published source as general information.
No prices on this site
Nothing here is a quote, an estimate or a rate. The contractor sets the price. It is worth asking for an invoice that shows extraction and drying separately from any rebuild, and keeping every receipt, because an insurer treats protection from further damage and the permanent repair differently.
The $100 credit
The terms shown next to the request form and on the confirmation page govern the $100 credit wherever it appears. It is paid by us, not by the contractor, and the contractor's price stays the same. It is never a payment toward, or a waiver of, an insurance deductible.
Agencies and standards we mention
We have no connection with the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County, any town or village, National Grid, the IICRC, or any state or federal agency. When a page describes what one of them publishes, their own material is the authority, and their rules and contact details may change. Statistics on these pages, including NOAA climate normals for Syracuse Hancock International Airport, US Census Bureau housing estimates and the county hazard mitigation plan, are given as the source publishes them and describe no individual property.
Information, not advice
The pages on this site explain the first steps after water damage and the rules around them. They are general information and not legal, insurance or engineering advice, and they are no replacement for a contractor seeing the property. If any step described here would be unsafe where you are, skip it.
Where our responsibility ends
We choose the contractors we refer with care. Even so, the quality, timing and cost of the work are matters between you and the contractor. As far as the law permits, we accept no liability for a contractor's acts or omissions, for loss caused by work we did not do, for any delay in reading or passing on a request, or for choices you make on the strength of general information published here. These terms do not take away any right that the law says cannot be taken away.
Fair use of the form
Send requests only about a property you own, rent, manage or live in. Do not enter someone else's details without their agreement, submit requests by script, or try to disrupt the site.
Law and updates
New York State law governs these terms. They may be revised from time to time, and a request is covered by the version published here on the day it was sent.
The $100 credit
We credit $100 against the first job you book through this site. The credit is funded by us, not by the contractor who carries out the work. The contractor quotes and invoices their own normal price for the job; the $100 is credited by us out of the fee we take once the job is booked and quoted, and the contractor is told about the credit when we hand the job over.
One credit per customer per property, on the first booked job. The credit applies once the job is booked and quoted, not to a quotation on its own.
To claim it, mention this offer when you book. Requesting a quote through this site records the offer against your request, and we confirm it with you before the job is booked, so nothing is lost if you forget to raise it first.
The offer is valid through December 31, 2026. The job must be booked on or before that date. We do not set or control the contractor's price, and this credit is not a reduction of that price.
